君子之于禽兽也，见其生，不忍见其死，闻其声，不忍食其肉，是以君子远包厨也。 When you#ve seen how birds and animals live, you cannot bear to see them killed; when you#ve heard how birds chirp and animals cry, you cannot bear to eat their meat. Therefore, a man of honor has his kitchen placed out of sight and hearing (or keeps away from his kitchen).

- 得道者多助，失道者寡助。寡助之至，亲戚畔之；多助之至，天下顺之。
- 仁也者，人也。合而言之，道也。
- 古之人，得志，泽加于民；不得志，修身见于世。穷则独善其身，达则兼善天下。” 古时候的人，如果得志，就会惠泽万民；如果不得志，就修养自身以现于世间。穷困时独自善养自身，发达时兼顾善养天下万民。” 孟子曰：“君子有三乐，而王天下不与存焉。父母俱存，兄弟无故，一乐也。仰不愧于天，俯不怍于人，二乐也。得天下英才而教育之，三乐也。君子有三乐，而王天下不与存焉。” 孟子说：“君子有三种快乐，但称王天下不在这当中。父母亲都在，兄弟姐妹都平安，这是一种快乐；上不惭愧于天，下不惭愧于人，这是第二种快乐；得到天下的优秀人才并教育他们，这是第三种快乐。君子有了这三种快乐，但称王天下不在这当中。”
- 父子有亲，君臣有交，夫妇有别，长幼有序，朋友有信。
- 是故所欲有甚于生者，所恶有甚于死者。非独贤者有是心也，人皆有之，贤者能勿丧耳。
